Hands-On Fatherhood is a dad-and-kid community starting locally, with activities and ideas dads can use anywhere.
A BEGINNING.
I’m Trevor, a dad of two in Northern Denver. Hands-On Fatherhood began with projects my family already wanted to try and a small Facebook group first called DIY Dads.
Now the goal is clearer: create concrete opportunities for dads and kids to spend meaningful time together. The project is a vehicle for connection. Sometimes that means a build challenge; sometimes a hike, game, practical skill, service project, or casual gathering.
What belongs here
Dads, stepdads, foster dads, grandfathers, mentors, and other consistent father figures doing the steady work of showing up for a child.
What does not
No parenting-expert persona, dad-shaming, macho posturing, perfect-family act, or pressure for children to perform. Mistakes, repairs, changed plans, and unfinished projects are part of the experience.
The promise
Give dads a worthwhile reason to show up and do something with their kids. The activity is the invitation. Connection is the outcome.
