1. Painter’s-tape road

Lay a road across the floor, under a chair, and around a table leg. Add cardboard buildings and test which toy vehicles fit. Use low-tack tape and test an inconspicuous spot first.

2. Paper tower test

Use ten sheets of scrap paper and a short piece of tape. Build the tallest freestanding tower you can, then change one thing and try again.

3. Kitchen-table invention bin

Collect safe recyclables, tape, string, craft sticks, and markers. Pick a problem such as “carry a toy across the table without touching it” and invent a solution.

4. Sink-or-float predictions

Choose six waterproof household objects. Predict, test, and talk about what surprised you. An adult handles all water setup and cleanup.

5. Flashlight shadow lab

Move a flashlight closer and farther from an object. Trace shadows or build cardboard creatures whose shapes change on the wall.
